Cordyceps Militaris Extract Glucan is a natural polysaccharide with β-(1→3) and β-(1→6) glycosidic bonds as the main chain and rich side chains. It is mainly isolated and purified from artificially cultivated Cordyceps militaris fruiting bodies or mycelium. Its molecular weight is usually distributed between 1×10⁴–14×10⁴ Da, and its unique triple helical conformation makes it have higher biological activity than ordinary plant polysaccharides. What are the main effects of Cordyceps militaris β-glucan powder?
Blood sugar reduction: In vitro experiments show that its IC₅₀ for α-amylase and α-glucosidase is as low as 2.68 mg/mL and 2.37 mg/mL, respectively. The inhibition type is anti-competitive and mixed inhibition, which can delay the postprandial blood sugar peak.
Antioxidation: The scavenging rate of DPPH·, ABTS⁺·, and ·OH free radicals increases linearly with the increase of concentration. The scavenging rate can reach more than 90% at about 8 mg/mL, and its ability is about 8.3 times that of Vc at the same concentration.
Liver protection and blood lipid reduction: Animal experiments show that continuous gavage for 4 weeks can significantly reduce the serum TC and TG levels of hyperlipidemia mice, increase HDL-C, and reduce fatty degeneration of liver tissue.
Skin repair: The triple helix structure can bind to the TLR-2 receptor of keratinocytes to promote collagen synthesis. It has been used as a substitute for "plant bosaixin" in mid-to-high-end masks and essences.

Optimal extraction process of Cordyceps militaris glucan powder
Raw material pretreatment: Select dried Cordyceps militaris fruiting bodies and crush them through a 50-mesh sieve.
Ultrasound-assisted water extraction: material-liquid ratio 1:30 (g/mL), 90 ℃ water bath for 3 h, 200 W ultrasound for 60 min during the period, which can significantly improve the dissolution rate of polysaccharides.
Enzymatic impurity removal: Add 2% α-amylase, keep warm at 50 ℃ for 60 min, selectively hydrolyze α-glucan, and reduce the pressure of subsequent purification.
Alcohol precipitation: Concentrate the extract to 1/5 of the original volume, slowly add 95% ethanol to a final ethanol concentration of 80%, stand at 4 ℃ overnight, and collect the precipitate by centrifugation.
Deproteinization and purification: After deproteinization by papain (0.5%, 45℃, 2h) combined with Sevage method, the powder is chromatographed by DEAE-FF ion exchange column and macroporous resin HPD-750, and freeze-dried to obtain Cordyceps militaris glucan powder with purity ≥90%, concentrated molecular weight distribution and complete triple helix structure.
