Sulforaphane Powder

Sulforaphane powder has a molecular formula of C6H11NOS2 and a relative molecular mass of 177.3. It is a member of a class of isothiocyanates (ITCs) primarily found in cruciferous vegetables. It is found in high concentrations in vegetables such as broccoli and cabbage, with the highest concentrations in broccoli sprouts. Sulforaphane is converted from its precursor glucosinolates (GS) by the enzyme myrosinase. The N=C=S group in sulforaphane is easily polarized, acquiring a positive charge, making it susceptible to reactions with nucleophiles such as amino, hydroxyl, and carboxylic acids. This structure is key to its diverse biological activities. 

Sulforaphane exhibits significant anti-cancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor effects, as well as antiviral properties, making it a potential drug for the prevention or treatment of coronavirus infection. A growing number of studies confirm that sulforaphane has a potent regulatory effect on metabolic disorders. 

Anticancer Properties‌: Induces phase II detoxification enzymes (e.g., glutathione transferases), inhibits cancer cell proliferation, and targets cancer stem cells in prostate, breast, and lung cancers. 

‌Antioxidant & Anti-inflammatory Effects‌: Upregulates endogenous antioxidants (e.g., glutathione) and reduces oxidative stress markers by 20–80 times compared to quercetin or curcumin.

Standardized extracts (e.g., 10% sulforaphane) ensure consistent dosing.  Look for products combining glucoraphanin with active myrosinase (e.g., "Broccomax") to enhance bioavailability.
